The New JDCBS Database
We are excited to announce that the Juvenile Dermatomyositis Cohort Biomarker Study and Repository (JDCBS) database has migrated to a new, future proof, database system called REDCap . This is a system for electronic data capture, widely used in clinical research that provides improved security and functionality. The new database is stored on the GOSH DRE (Great Ormond Street Hospital Digital Research Environment), a secure, cloud-based, platform that enables data analysis for biomedical research.

Where are we now?
The GOSH DRE REDCap JDCBS database opened on the 5th of April 2023. Since then study contributors from across UK have provided excellent feedback about how positive the experience of the new database is for them. Not only it is now much easier to enter data, but the new system enables better research to be conducted in the future, so improving the healthcare we can offer to children affected by JDM.
